Straws, Straws, Straws – who knew 5 years ago these things used to aid drinking would be the talk of the town. The 15^th most googled product in 2020 and a part of $75 Million Dollar industry? The world has gone straw crazy, obviously we have. We started a business in providing access to affordable and stylish straws two years ago after a career in the military, it wasn’t a natural progression ladder I promise you 😊! Glass Straws, Silicone Straws, Metal Straws, Bamboo Straws, Grass Straws all the freakin straws!

I know Covid stuffed up a lot of thigs for everyone, a lot of businesses crumbled BUT a lot succeeded and found new innovative ways to sell their products or services. We firstly thought we were done as we were predominantly selling reusable straws to the hospitality industry (specifically establishments that offered dine in service). But Thanks to Covid, SUCKITUPstraws learnt how to pivot. We found a gap in the market and we needed to be more than just online and local markets we needed to be in retail – brick and mortar stores. We needed to be by our impulse buyers, so we put our retail straws where customers actually needed them in stores, gift stores, florists’ cafes and some restaurants etc.

We now Have 3 States prepared to Fight against Single Use Plastics! Let's Go Aussie

Sending our welcome and congratulations to the state of Victoria, joining QLD and SA in the fight against Single Use Plastic. Victoria is to ban all Single Use Plastic from Restaurants, Bars and Public sale from 2023. It is estimated that each individual throws away 68kgs of SUP a year, 1/3 of that is Plastic Straws and Cups!! This ban is going to immediately make a difference, and this blog offers advice on alternatives.
